1. When is the deadline for applications?

For 2011, the online application deadline is August 13, 2010. Applications are forwarded to the universities on a rolling basis, and interviews can be set up before or after the closing date. The Family Medicine deadline for 2010 was January 1, 2010. The Family Medicine deadline for 2011 is January 1, 2011.back to top

2. How does the interview process work?

After submitting your online application, the application is forwarded to the institutions that you select. The Institutions then decide whom they would like to interview from the applications they receive. The individual programs will contact you directly to set up an interview. back to top

4. Are there former fellows I can speak to about the fellowship?

5. Is there an opportunity to meet current and former fellows?

Yes. Each year we hold a fellowship reception at the Annual ACOG meeting. The reception is a great way to experience the network that becoming a family planning fellow opens you up to. 6. Who is eligible to apply for the Fellowship in Family Planning?

The Fellowship in Family Planning is open to US and Canadian trained doctors who have completed their residency. 20 sites are open to ob/gyn doctors and one is open to family medicine doctors. back to top

8. How do family medicine residents apply?

Family medicine residents can apply online. Simply fill out the form here and select one of the programs you are interested in. The deadline for Family Medicine applicants is January 1, 2011. back to top

9. How does the match process work?

The match process works exactly like the resident match process. You will submit a rank list of your choices in order of preference. You will log into a secure site and submit your list online. The institutions will also submit their choices in order of preference. Match lists are due by October 19, 2010. You will be contacted with the results of the match on Match Day, October 26, 2010.

10. How do I submit my rank list?

To submit your match list, you will logon to www.familyplanningfellowship.org and click on the private login button. You simply login, click on the match button, fill out the form, and click the submit button. A confirmation of your list will be sent to you within 24 hours. back to top
